But Helmut, who has spent a fair amount of time in the area, said we should go over to the other side of it to the Golden Gate National Park Recreation Area. Great advice!!! Parking was a challenge, but we just kept driving past all the pullouts that were full and managed to get a spot closer to the lighthouse.
The light house and surrounding area was pretty cool too. We could see dolphins in the distance jumping around in the waves. Wish I had my longer lens with me to capture that, but oh well! Still got some fun shots!
We had an amazing time hiking around the Marin Headlands. The views were beautiful and it was absolutely FREE!! Can't beat that!
On our way back to San Diego, we were treated to a full moon view out of the window of the plane...
